Chelsea make David Alaba transfer decision

Chelsea won't meet Alaba's wage demands

Chelsea make David Alaba transfer decision

09 February 2021 - 20:05

Chelsea have reportedly out of the running to sign David Alaba due to the wage demands of the Bayern Munich defender.

  • Chelsea tipped to sell £30m striker this summer
  • Andoni Iraola attracted to Chelsea project?

  • The Austrian has only five months remaining on his Bayern contract and he is expected to leave on a free transfer in June.

Alaba has been widely tipped to join Real Madrid this summer, but ESPN claims that he has yet to sign a pre-contract.

The Blues have also shown an interest in the versatile defender, but reports claim that they are unlikely to meet his salary requirements.

Alaba wants around £400,000-a-week and the west London giants have no plans of meeting the demands of the 28-year-old.

N'Golo Kante is currently the highest-paid player on £300,000-a-week and the Blues are unlikely to break their bank for Alaba.

Hence, Los Blancos are clear favourites to sign Alaba, who has notched more than 400 appearances for Bayern during his career.

Marca claims that an agreement could be finalised between Alaba and Los Blancos before next month's international break.
