Arsenal suffer injury blow ahead of Slavia Prague clash

06 April 2021 - 20:40

Arsenal have suffered a fresh injury blow with Kieran Tierney likely to be sidelined for a lengthy period of time.

  • Argentine star has signed two-year deal at Chelsea
  • RB Leipzig agree deal to sign 20yo Chelsea striker

  • The Scotland international sustained a knee problem against Liverpool last weekend, and he was substituted before the interval.

Following the game, manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the left-back's injury, but he was unsure over the timescale for his recovery.

It is now reported by Standard Sport that Tierney will be out for a few weeks, and he will miss the Europa League quarter-final ties.

The Gunners are 10 points adrift of the top four of the Premier League with only eight more games left in the campaign.

Hence, they may need to win the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League, and it won't be straightforward.

They face competition from the likes of Manchester United, Roma, Villarreal and Ajax while they need to beat Slavia in the last eight.

Slavia have beaten Leicester City and Rangers in the previous rounds.
