Manchester United are still looking into a summer deal for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, a report from The Sun claims.
The 23-year-old has been a long-term target for United, and he was initially tracked by former boss Jose Mourinho in 2018.
A recent report claimed that United had cooled their interest in the centre-back as they were not impressed by his international displays last month.
However, according to The Sun, that does not appear the case, and the Red Devils could step up their interest in the forthcoming weeks.
Milenkovic has already declined to sign a new contract beyond June 2022, but the Serie A club could demand as much as £38m to sell him.
He was previously on the radar of Liverpool. The Merseyside giants are now focused on landing RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.
Meanwhile, United have also been tipped to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid amid the Frenchman's reluctance to extend his contract.
The 2018 World Cup winner has only 14 months remaining in his deal, and he is reportedly keen on a fresh challenge after a decade-long stay.
