Manchester United are exploring the prospect of re-signing former goalkeeper Tom Heaton on a free transfer.
The Red Devils are expected to part ways with Sergio Romero and Lee Grant when their contracts expire in June.
Hence, they will look to sign another experienced goalkeeper to provide back-up to Dean Henderson and David de Gea.
According to The Sun, the club are looking into a deal for Heaton, whose contract with Aston Villa expires in two months.
Heaton has played second fiddle to Emiliano Martinez for the Villans this term, and he is unlikely to renew his deal.
The 35-year-old was previously with United between 2002 and 2010, but did not make a single first-team appearance for them.
Heaton will be in demand this summer, and it remains to be seen whether he will accept the third-choice goalkeeper role with United.
The England international has made nearly 400 appearances in his playing career. However, he has not managed a single outing this term.
