Chelsea are set to keep Marcos Alonso next season despite the reported interest from Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are set to part ways with Junior Firpo, and they have identified Alonso as a potential replacement.
However, their chances of signing the Spaniard seem unlikely with Blues boss Thomas Tuchel reluctant to lose him this summer.
Tuchel regularly swapped between Alonso and Ben Chilwell for the left wing-back role during the back end of last season.
Chilwell became the regular in the final weeks, but Tuchel considers Alonso as a big part of his plans for the future.
He has two years remaining on his contract, and it is reported that the club could discuss a new deal with him.
Meanwhile, Emerson, who is behind Chilwell and Alonso in the pecking order, appears set to leave the club this summer.
He has one year left on his deal. He has been tipped to return to the Serie A with interest from Inter Milan and Napoli.
