Atletico Madrid have revealed they have missed out on signing Portuguese midfielder Deco. Barcelona were rumoured to be thinking about letting the player leave during the summer or perhaps January, but the Catalans moved to quash these rumours.

Atletico revealed they had made an £11m offer for the talented midfielder at the beginning of the summer which was not officially rejected; however, Barcelona decided later on that they would instead keep the player as they still see him in their plans.
