Jack Grealish move to Man City falls through?

18 July 2021 - 08:02

It is understood that Jack Grealish's anticipated move to Manchester City has fallen through. The Aston Villa star appears to have decided to stay put for at least another season.

  • Chelsea want to pay only £25m for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Marseille table bid for Chelsea defender

  • Grealish emerged as one of Pep Guardiola's top transfer targets during this summer transfer window, with reports suggesting a possible £80 million transfer switch for the England international youngster.

Instead, it appears as if the player himself has opted against a move to the Premier League champions.

The 25-year-old has reportedly declared his love for his boyhood club and wants to instead extend his deal at Villa Park beyond 2024, with a new deal seeing him stay with the side until 2026.

The attacker, who currently captains his club, had an impressive Euro 2020 and caught the eye on the global stage with some impressive displays for England.

It is understood that even Real Madrid and Barcelona are closely monitoring Grealish's transfer situation, albeit of the opinion that the player is unlikely to turn down a move to City in favour of a transfer abroad, if a deal is indeed agreed with Aston Villa.
