Arsenal have confirmed their second signing of the summer transfer window with Albert Sambi Lokonga joining them from Anderlecht.
The Belgian has joined the club for a reported fee of around €17.5m. The deal could rise to €21m with performance-based add-ons.
The 21-year-old told the club's official website: "It's a big step, but I feel confident because we have to be."
"In the football world, you have to feel confident about yourself, but I'm looking to play in this league and I can't wait to start."
The midfielder has become the club's second acquisition of the summer after the arrival of left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica.
He is considered a long-term prospect, and the club are likely to pursue another experienced midfielder in the coming weeks.
They have been regularly linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers' Ruben Neves as well as Sassuolo's Manuel Locatelli.
Meanwhile, the club are expected to announce the arrival of Ben White from Brighton & Hove Albion in around a week's time.
White is scheduled to undergo his medical on July 26. He will sign a four-year contract with the club worth £120,000-a-week.
