Manchester United handed Eduardo Camavinga blow

Camavinga prefers PSG switch

Manchester United handed Eduardo Camavinga blow

24 August 2021 - 20:37

Manchester United have been handed a potential blow in the pursuit of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.

  • £47m star to undergo Chelsea medical on Friday
  • Chelsea make first move to sign French centre-back

  • Camavinga has entered the final year of his contract, and Rennes are keen to sell him before the end of the month.

They value him at around €30 million, and it recently appeared that United could be in the mix to land his services.

However, according to L'Equipe, Les Parisiens are already in contact with his representatives, and they are favourites.

Camavinga would also prefer to remain in Ligue 1, and he is said to welcome a move to the French heavyweights.

A deal could be delayed until the closing stages of the transfer window as Les Parisiens need to offload a few players.

After the mega-money contract for Lionel Messi, Les Parisiens need to balance their books first to avoid any FFP issues.

Camavinga has also been a long-term target for Real Madrid, but the club are entirely focused on landing Kylian Mbappe.

It has been reported that they have made a club-record bid of around €160m to convince Les Parisiens into selling him.
