West Ham United are reportedly preparing a £15 million bid to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard.
The 28-year-old spent the back end of last season on loan with the Hammers, bagging nine goals and five assists from 16 outings.
He has been touted to rejoin them for a while, but a deal has not materialised. The Hammers were put off by the £25m price tag.
It is now reported that the east London outfit are weighing up a formal bid and there is the optimism that they can land his services.
With Cristiano Ronaldo's shock return to Old Trafford, United are likely to cash in on one of their attackers to compensate for the outlay.
Lingard, who has entered the final year of his contract, appears the most likely to head for the exit door before Tuesday's deadline.
The Hammers are weighing up a cut-price bid of around £15m for the forward, who is open to a permanent move away from Old Trafford.
