Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has denied that Everton made an approach to sign Donny van de Beek.

  • Man Utd & Arsenal enter race to sign Italian defender

  • The Dutchman was linked with a possible exit over the summer, and the Toffees were interested in signing him on loan.

However, a deal did not materialise in the end. Solskjaer has now revealed that there was no formal offer on the table from the Toffees.

He added that the midfielder is still working hard in training despite the fact that he has received limited playing time this season.

He told RTL7: "We never received an offer from Everton. To me, he is a Manchester United player."

"Donny is still working hard. I understand Donny, he is frustrated and disappointed. But he continues to work every day with a big smile."

Van de Beek has been dropped from the Netherlands national team recently with Louis van Gaal citing his lack of league minutes.

He has played just six minutes in the Premier League this term, and it has been widely speculated that he could leave in January.
