Chelsea are prepared to reward Trevoh Chalobah with an improved contract following his impressive breakthrough season.
The centre-back made a huge impression for the Blues in pre-season, and he has since established himself with the first-team.
His current deal expires in June 2023, and football.london claims that the club are close to reaching an agreement over a renewal.
Chalobah is expected to be handed a significant wage rise on the back of what is turning into a fine breakout campaign.
Aside from Chalobah, the Blues are already readying a new deal for Mason Mount, who has three years left on his deal.
The England international recently bagged a stunning hat-trick against Norwich City which was his first-ever for the club.
He is currently on wages of around £75,000-a-week. It is reported that his wages could at least be doubled with the renewal.
Chelsea have made a fine start to the campaign, and they are currently top of the league standings, one point ahead of Liverpool.
