Brazilian defender Marquinhos has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain blocked Chelsea's approach to sign him.
The Blues were keen on landing an elite centre-back over the summer, and they reportedly made an enquiry for Marquinhos.
The west London giants were prepared to pay €100m for his services, but Les Parisiens made it clear that he was not for sale.
Speaking to Le Parisien, Marquinhos has now revealed that the Blues never made an offer as Les Parisiens blocked negotiations.
He said: "No! It wasn't even an offer. In fact, the club blocked talks straight away. It shows the faith they have in me."
Marquinhos has been a key player for the French giants. He has been the captain since Thiago Silva's exit last summer.
The versatile defender has three years remaining on his existing deal, and he has insisted that he is fully focused at the club.
It won't be a surprise if Les Parisiens seek to negotiate a new improved deal.
