Manchester City will make a fresh approach to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in January.
The England international was heavily tipped to join the Cityzens over the summer, but they were priced out of a transfer.
The Premier League champions were willing to pay £100m, but Spurs refused to accept anything less than £150 million.
Spurs have not changed their valuation since, but ESPN claims that City could convince them with a bid close to that figure.
Kane has had an indifferent start to the Premier League campaign, and he has netted just one goal in 10 top-flight appearances.
The striker committed his future to Spurs earlier this summer, but did not confirm that he would be staying for the campaign.
Spurs appear braced for his potential winter exit. They have lined up Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic as a replacement.
Vlahovic has been in sparkling form in Serie A. He has netted 29 league goals since the beginning of the previous campaign.
