Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the potential loan departure of Neco Williams during the January transfer window.
The Reds graduate has struggled for regular game time with Trent Alexander-Arnold being an undisputed starter at right-back.
He has largely played as back-up with just three appearances, but Klopp has no plans of loaning him out at the beginning of the year.
He said on Williams: "We are really short of players. The last thing I'm thinking about is who could go on loan in the winter."
Williams has managed only seven minutes of Premier League football this term. James Milner has started ahead of him on two occasions.
His only start came in the Carabao Cup fourth round win over Preston North End, and should be fancied to start in the quarter-final tie.
The Reds entertain Leicester City in the last eight of the Cup competition at home. The game is scheduled to be played on December 22.
