Former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho is open to joining Newcastle United next year, according to El Nacional.
The Brazil international has been with Barcelona for nearly four years, but he has yet to establish himself as a regular.
Coutinho has turned out 13 times for the club this term, but he is aware that he is not in the future plans of Xavi.
Hence, he could leave the club in either January or next summer. The Magpies could be favourites to sign him.
Coutinho was initially reluctant to join the Tyneside outfit, but he is now open to the prospect of signing for them.
The 29-year-old is willing to take up the challenge with the Magpies, who could hand him Premier League record wages.
The Magpies were taken over by a Saudi-led consortium in October, but they have plenty of work to do to prevent relegation.
They are already six points adrift of safety, and things could get worse in the coming weeks. A winter spending spree is expected.
