Lyon threaten to boycott game

24 April 2008 - 11:09

Lyon have threatened to boycott their French Cup semi final game with Sedan unless the French FA reschedule the game. Lyon take on Sedan three days before their top of the league clash with third-placed Nancy, and are wary that Bordeaux are only a few points off the pace.

  • A statement on the club's website read: "OL is against the decision of the Federation to play the Coupe de France game between Lyon and Sedan on Wednesday May 7 at 9pm, which would leave only three days to prepare for the game against Nancy, a game which is vital in the title race.

"If the decision to keep the match on the Wednesday is confirmed, Olympique Lyonnais will be prepared to consider the semi-final an impasse, either by not attending or by playing its reserve team."
