West Ham United have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Lille midfielder Jonathan David in January.
The Hammers did not sign a new striker during the summer transfer window, and there has been an over-reliance on Michail Antonio up front.
David Moyes may look for a solution at the turn of the year, and Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur claims that the Hammers are keen on David.
The Canada international has settled at Lille after an average debut campaign. He has already bagged 15 goals from 26 appearances this season.
Despite his efforts, Lille have not offered a good defence of their league title, and they could be open to sanctioning his sale for the right price.
The Ligue 1 club are looking for around £35m for his services, and it appears the Hammers could make an approach to sign him next month.
The Gunners have also been linked with him, but any move may depend on the potential departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
