Benni McCarthy has finally ended speculation regarding his future as he appears to have signed a new contract at Blackburn Rovers that will be likely to keep him at the club until 2011.
Since joining from Porto, the South African forward has been superb for Rovers.
With several Italian and Spanish sides interested in the player, Mark Hughes was keen to tie up a new deal for the forward.
Hughes said: "I think it's actually done now which is good news. Benni's a proven international quality striker. For the amount that I paid for him, it is pound for pound my best deal."
