Arsenal are likely to miss out on signing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie with his preference to join Barcelona.
The Ivory Coast international has just four months left on his contract, and he has no plans of extending his stay with the Rossoneri.
The club have offered him around €5m in annual wages, but that is significantly less than the Blaugrana's contract package.
According to Sport, Kessie has his sights on joining the Catalan giants on a free transfer despite widespread Premier League interest.
Everton and Arsenal have already made contact with his agent, but they have not been able to convince the midfielder over a Bosman deal.
It appears unlikely that Kessie will change his stance. The Gunners may need to offer a bumper wage package to entice him in the coming weeks.
Otherwise, the 25-year-old could be on his way to Camp Nou. The Blaugrana are already pushing to finalise a pre-contract agreement.
Kessie has bagged six goals and one assist in 26 games for Milan this term.
