Cristiano Ronaldo has opted to stay with Manchester United next season, according to AS.
The Portuguese made the shock return to Old Trafford last summer, and he has since experienced mixed fortunes.
Ronaldo netted 14 goals during the first half of the season, but has scored just four times since the turn of the year.
It is now reported that Ronaldo will stay put with United next season regardless of where they finish in the league.
There has been talk that the 37-year-old may not continue with the club if they fail to secure Champions League football.
However, that does not appear the case. The hierarchy have assured him that they will recruit an experienced manager.
Meanwhile, the board also feel they made a mistake with the appointment of Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis in December.
The German has a bad relationship with several players, and it is claimed that he could be sacked in the coming weeks.
Rangnick has agreed a consultant role for the next two seasons, but may not even take the position, according to reports.
