AC Milan have reached a pre-contract agreement with Divock Origi for a free transfer for the striker in the summer. The San Siro outfit are riding high in Serie A so far this campaign, and manager Stefano Pioli has snapped up one of the summer's top free transfer targets.
Since his arrival from Lille in 2014, Liverpool forward Origi has gone on to become a club legend with a knack for scoring crucial goals. He has also worn the captain's armband on occasion, such is his profile at Anfield. However, with a return of 21 goals in 105 games, Klopp may be looking for other attacking options and Origi himself has decided against a new deal with the club.
His departure will be a sad note for many Liverpool fans. Origi famously scored important goals against the likes of Barcelona. He grabbed a goal in the Champions League final the same year against Tottenham, and also a brace in 2019/20 against bitter rivals Everton.
Meanwhile AC Milan appear to have recognised his undoubted talent this season, when Origi himself scored a goal against the Italian side.
