Manchester United playmaker set for second chance under Ten Hag

Manchester United playmaker Donny van de Beek will be handed the chance to revive his career under Erik ten Hag next season.

  • Chelsea eyeing move for Fiorentina right-back?

  • The Dutchman joined the Red Devils from Ajax under much fanfare in 2020, but has yet to make a meaningful mark for them.

He is currently on loan at Everton, whom he joined in January. The Toffees don't have the option to sign him permanently.

According to ESPN, Van de Beek could be handed a second chance at United with the imminent appointment of Ten Hag as manager.

The 52-year-old will officially take charge from the summer and Van de Beek could benefit the most from the club's decision.

Van de Beek graduated through the youth ranks at Ajax. Ten Hag played a pivotal role in shaping up his early career at the club.

It was anticipated that he would replicate the showing at United, but that has hardly been the case. He can't be blamed solely for it.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and interim boss Ralf Rangnick had been reluctant to play him, but that could change with Ten Hag in charge.
