Arsenal have a strong interest in signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez during this summer's transfer window, FCInterNews claims.
The Gunners were keen on landing a centre-forward in January, but could not pursue a suitable target before the transfer deadline.
It did not seem much of a problem initially, but it could now be a prime reason behind them missing out of the Champions League.
According to FCInterNews, Martinez is attracting plenty of transfer interest with Barcelona, Arsenal and Atletico among suitors.
Barcelona are long-term admirers of Martinez, but reports claim that Inter are unlikely to entertain a part-exchange bid from them.
The Nerazzurri prefer a straight-cash deal. Hence, Arsenal and Atletico are currrently in the strongest position to land his services.
Inter committed Martinez to a new long-term deal earlier this campaign. They are unlikely to sell him for anything less than €75m.
The Gunners are expected to spend big on a marquee striker. It remains to be seen whether they make a huge outlay on the Argentine.
