Gabriel Jesus' agent confirms Arsenal interest

The agent of Gabriel Jesus has confirmed that talks have been held with Arsenal over a possible summer transfer.

The Brazilian has been with the Cityzens for the past five years, but he is likely to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Gunners have been in contact with his representative Marcelo Pettinati, and he has now formally confirmed the same.

He told Fabrizio Romano: "We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus. We like the project – it's a possibility we're discussing."

Jesus has had another top campaign for the Cityzens, bagging 13 goals and 12 assists from 39 appearances across all competitions.

His current contract with the Cityzens expires in the summer of 2023, but it appears unlikely that he will prolong his stay further.

With the summer arrival of Erling Braut Haaland, he is set to drop down the pecking order. This should pave the way for his exit.

Arsenal should be favourites to sign him amid recent developments.
