Fred staying at Lyon

Tottenham target Fred looks set to stay in France for another season as Lyon look to be closer to agreeing a new deal with the Brazilian forward. The striker had been touted as a successor to Dimitar Berbatov who has been linked with a move elsewhere.

"Lyon offered me a three-year extension and I came out of the meeting very happy." he said.



"Now negotiations will start with my brother (his agent) and we’ll see what happens. But it’s a good offer."



Fred looks set to sign a deal until 2010.
