Manchester United have been handed a big transfer blow with Darwin Nunez reluctant to join them this summer.
The Red Devils are expected to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window, and Nunez has been mentioned one of the top targets.
However, according to A Bola, it appears United are likely to miss out on landing him due to his insistence of playing in the Champions League.
The Red Devils are willing to meet the reported €100m price tag, but they can't offer him Champions League football after a sixth-place league finish.
Nunez is also expected to reject Newcastle United for the same reason. It is claimed that Real Madrid could emerge as front-runners for him.
The Spanish giants missed out on signing Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer lately, and may now focus on pursuing Nunez from Benfica.
The 22-year-old had a stellar 2021/22 campaign, bagging 34 goals and four assists from just 41 appearances across all competitions.
