Manchester United are set to compete with Chelsea to sign Lens defender Jonathan Clauss this summer.
The Red Devils are aiming to bolster their right-back position, and are now considering a move for Clauss.
Clauss only made his top-flight debut with Lens two years ago, but he has been a sensational performer for them.
The 29-year-old made 16 goal contributions last term from the right wing-back role and is now a France regular.
According to Standard Sport, United have made an approach for Clauss, who is available for just £8 million.
However, they are unlikely to make a formal bid until they are able to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.
Chelsea are also keen on landing the exciting defender, but they also have a similar stance to the Red Devils.
The Blues don't plan to make a bid for him until they manage to part ways with captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
Azpilicueta has been fancied to make a switch to Barcelona.
