Chelsea are set to miss out on signing Robert Lewandowski with Barcelona now in advanced negotiations with Bayern Munich.
The Poland international had another stellar season with the German champions, netting a staggering 50 goals from 46 outings.
He is now keen on making the switch to Camp Nou, and The Athletic reports that Bayern have agreed to hold negotiations with Barca.
The Bundesliga holders were initially reluctant to hold talks with the Blaugrana, but have now changed their transfer stance.
Lewandowski has publicly made it clear that he wants to leave, and Bayern don't want to spoil their relationship by forcing him to stay.
The news will come as a potential blow for Chelsea, who are now unlikely to persuade Lewandowski to move to the Premier League.
The Blues were aiming to make a late approach for the Pole, but Barcelona are currently in a better position to spend on his services.
After the approval of a second economic lever this month, they can spend £170m on players, though they still need to reduce their wage bill.
