Chelsea could miss out on signing Jules Kounde following the arrival of Barcelona onto the scene.
The Blues recently made an opening bid of €55m plus add-ons for Kounde, and they were confident of landing his signature.
However, the scenario has completely changed with Barcelona\'s interest. Kounde is said to prefer a move to Camp Nou.
According to Cadena COPE, the central defender has been urged by Barcelona to stay patient as they weigh up a formal offer.
The Catalan giants are currently in the process of availing a third economic lever that should provide them with €300 million.
This should ease their financial concerns further and put them in a solid position to beat Chelsea to the France international.
Chelsea have already missed out on one player to Barcelona this summer in Raphinha, and it could be deja-vu again with Kounde.
This should frustrate many of the club\'s supporters, considering the Blues have made just two signings since the start of the summer.
