Manchester United have missed out on signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have been in regular contact with Salzburg over the past few days, but they were put off by the £55m valuation.
It is now reported that Salzburg have an agreement in place with RB Leipzig, and Sesko will join them at the end of this season.
The Bundesliga outfit are the sister club of Salzburg. They will be signing Sesko for just £20m during next summer's transfer window.
The news will come as a big blow for the Red Devils, who had earmarked the 19-year-old as one of their leading striker targets.
Chelsea and Newcastle United were also linked with his services, but Sesko is prepared to take up a new challeng with Leipzig instead.
Meanwhile, United are now focused on pursuing Marko Arnautovic. The decision to move for him has angered several club fans.
The Austrian is no longer in the prime of his career at 33. Despite this, United are pushing to land his services from Bologna.
