Chelsea are yet to decide over a fresh bid for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana, according to CBS Sports.
The west London giants are determined to sign the Frenchman this summer, and have already agreed personal terms with him.
However, the Foxes are prepared to play hardball over negotiations, and won't sell Fofana for less than £85 million before the deadline.
The Blues' latest proposal stands at around £72m plus £8m in add-ons. They may need to meet the Foxes' demands upfront to sign him.
Fofana only penned a new long-term deal with the Foxes this year. With five years left on his contract, Leicester are under no pressure.
When the renewal was signed, the Foxes made it clear to the player that they would keep him for one more season, and that may still happen.
Fofana has told the Foxes about his desire to leave, but he is not expected to force a departure before the transfer window closes on September 1.
