Leicester City have moved swiftlyt o sign Belgium international defender Wout Faes from Reims today, signing the 6 foot 2 centre-back in a deal worth a reported 15 million euros. Faes, who had spells with Anderlecht and Oostende before moving to France with Reims, has been brought in as a replacement for Wesley Fofana, who moved to Chelsea yesterday.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 24-year-old has signed a five year contract with the Foxes and with that deal has become the club's first outfield signing of the transfer window.

At Reims, the defender was named the club's player of the season last campaign, and he has accrued a good reputation in France, a tough tackling defender who is a solid passer of the ball.

"This is the dream step in my career and I'm very happy to be here," said Faes.

"I'm progressing year after year, and I hope to continue doing the same here. All the facilities and knowledge is here to help me to get even better.

"I will have to work hard, but I will give 100 per cent to help the team."
