Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has said that the players are responsible for the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel from the head coach role.

  • The German tactician won three major trophies during his 19-month stint with the Blues before he was surprisingly sacked last week.

Tuchel was backed by the new owners throughout the summer, but an indifferent start to the season meant that they wanted a change.

Graham Potter is now the new manager, and Jorginho has admitted that the entire team is to blame for Tuchel heading for the exit door.

He said: "Of course, we're a team. So it's not one person responsible for what happened."

"We are a team and a group on the pitch. Of course, it's our responsibility what happened."

Chelsea have been far from convincing in the Premier League this season. They have gained just 10 points from the first six matches.

In the Champions League, they suffered a shock defeat to Dinamo Zagreb and will be aiming to return to winning ways against RB Salzburg.
