Manchester United have been handed a big boost in signing Cody Gakpo amid his change of transfer stance.
The Red Devils wanted to sign him in the recently-concluded transfer window, but ran out of funds after spending big on Antony.
Gakpo has since been linked heavily with a move to Leeds United, but The Athletic report that the club are unlikely to land him.
The Dutchman has been in superb form for PSV this term, registering an astonishing 13 goals and 10 assists from just 16 games.
Amidst his exceptional run of form, Gakpo has upped his ambitions and he is now looking forward to joining a more high-profile side.
Real Madrid and Arsenal are mentioned as admirers, but United could enter the race due to their close association with the player's agents.
Erik ten Hag and Gakpo share the same agency and this could boost their chances of landing him during the January transfer window.
The big questions remains whether the hierarchy will spend this winter.
