Chelsea have reportedly begun formal negotiations with midfielder Mason Mount over a new long-term contract.
The 23-year-old has been a key player for the west London giants and he has contributed three assists from 11 games this season.
He currently has less than two years remaining on his contract and Standard Sport claim that talks over a renewal are underway.
However, a quick resolution is not expected, considering the playmaker is keen on becoming one of the Blues' highest-paid players.
Mount currently earns around £75,000-a-week and he is said to be eyeing at least £200,000-a-week to prolong his stay at the club.
This is not something that the Blues are prepared to match, and only time will tell whether they can reach an agreement with Mount.
Mount recently starred in the 3-0 Premier League win over Wolves with two assists. He will be aiming to impress again against AC Milan.
The Blues face the Rossoneri in the Champions League tonight.
