Manchester United are ready to open negotiations with Benfica for Portuguese striker Goncalo Ramos, according to ESPN.
The Red Devils are eyeing a new striker during the winter transfer window and Ramos is one of the players under consideration.
The 21-year-old has been tremendous for Benfica this season with a tally of 14 goals and six assists from 21 appearances.
He has also impressed for his national side. The striker recently bagged a stunning hat-trick at the World Cup finals in Qatar.
Hence, his reputation is at an all-time high but United are still expected to make an enquiry for his services next month.
Benfica were willing to sell him for just €40m last summer, but they are now reluctant to listen to any offers in the New Year.
The Portuguese side want to keep him until next summer unless his €120m release clause is triggered in the coming weeks.
United may need to activate the buy-out clause to sign him.
