Sunderland nab Pelter

09 September 2007 - 17:40

Sunderland have secured New Zealand U20 international defender Jack Pelter to a short-term contract. Pelter has agreed a month-long deal while the Black Cats check on his fitness in preparation for what is expected to be an offer of a one-year deal.

  • Chelsea make Malo Gusto transfer decision
  • Arsenal favourites to sign 26yo Newcastle star?
  • The 20-year-old currently has an ankle injury which Sunderland are monitoring before committing themselves to a longer contract.

Having tied up the deal, manager Roy Keane said: "Jack has done well since coming to the club but he has a slight injury and we're looking at that.
