22 January 2023 - 20:35

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is ready to sign a new long-term contract on reduced terms, according to The Mirror.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Spaniard has been a key player for the Red Devils for the past 12 years and continues to remain an undisputed starter.

The club have recently triggered an extension in his contract to keep him until June 2024 and talks are planned for a fresh renewal.

De Gea is ready to accept a 25 per cent pay-cut on his current £375,000-a-week deal, but wants a minimum of three years.

Erik ten Hag has spoken glowingly over De Gea throughout the season and it won't amaze us if an extension is agreed soon.

United were thought to be eyeing a new keeper at the beginning of the campaign, but the interest has completely cooled.

The likes of David Raya and Diogo Costa have been linked, but the club are likely to focus on their midfield and attack this summer.
