Sunderland are considering a move for Rennes star Jimmy Briand in the summer. Briand is a versatile forward man, capable of playing on the right wing or up front and is valued at around £3.5 million by his club.
Briand has even found himself on the verges of the full international squad for France after he was selected by Raymond Domenech for the game with Georgia.
Many have labelled Briand as a 'new Thierry Henry' as he has similar pace and style whilst on the ball.
Briand has only just started hitting top gear in Ligue 1 though. Briand is likely to also attract the interests of Arsene Wenger who is scouring the market for signings and Portsmouth, who have already made a bid for the player previously.
