Manchester United are ready to compete with Arsenal and Chelsea for the signing of Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
The Belgian joined the Saints from Manchester City last summer and he has been hugely impressive over the course of the season.
The youngster has excelled with his passing and defensive attributes and there could be a bidding war for him in a few months' time.
According to The Mail, United have been impressed by the youngster's progress and they are prepared to make an approach.
Aside from the Red Devils, Arsenal and Chelsea are also looking at the 19-year-old, who could be prised away for around £40m.
Manchester City have the option to buy back their player for the same amount but the clause will only become active in June 2024.
It remains to be seen whether the Cityzens enter the pursuit of their graduate. They may need at least one midfielder this summer.
Ilkay Gundogan looks likely to leave on a free transfer.
