Chelsea are unlikely to make a fresh move for Marcus Thuram at the end of the campaign, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The west London giants were heavily linked with the Frenchman at the beginning of the year, but a move did not happen.
Borussia Monchengladbach were prepared to part ways with Thuram but he decided against considering a fresh challenge in January.
The 25-year-old will now leave when his contract expires in June but Plettenberg claims that Chelsea are no longer keen.
The Blues bolstered their attack last month with the signings of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Joao Felix (on loan).
They already have an agreement in place to land RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku this summer while a new striker will be signed.
Thuram can also lead the line but Chelsea are now determined to sign a natural number nine over a versatile attacking option.
Napoli star Victor Osimhen is the top name on their transfer radar this summer.
