Simao €20M to Atletico

Simao Sabrosa has completed his 20 M EUR transfer to Atletico Madrid from Benfica. The player, who was once wanted by Liverpool, will look forward to a stab in La Liga alongside Diego Forlan. Simao's arrival had signalled the end for Martin Petrov, who earlier signed for Man City.

Simao has signed a five year contract at the club. His old club Benfica will no doubt be disappointed to lose a player of such a high calibre, but the temptation of playing in La Liga was too much and £13.4m was too difficult to reject for Benfica.
