Wenger readies investment

10 May 2008 - 23:43

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reassured fans who thought he would not be so active in the transfer market by assuring that the club will be signing players soon. Hatem Ben Arfa has reportedly been in discussions with the Gunners in recent weeks.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • "I know what I want and I am very confident," said Wenger.

"I hope to turn that around in the next two or three weeks. They (fans) should be re-assured by what they see.

"It would be better to buy someone who has played in England because they are less risky, but it costs more money if they are from The Premier League."
