Sokratis Papastathopoulos has emerged as a shock target for Wigan and boss Steve Bruce this summer. The Greek defender has been in good form in the Greek leagues this season and is now in the international squad.
The 19 year old centre back is expected to be available for around £3 million from his club AEK Athens.
The defender has played for Greece under-19's and Greece under-21's as well as appearing for the international side.
Otto Rehhagel is a big fan of the player and he is expected to be a part of the Euro 2008.
