Chelsea have identified Chelsea defender Marc Guehi as a potential replacement for the injured Wesley Fofana.
Fofana had an injury-plagued debut season with the Blues, and he has now suffered another long-term setback with them.
The Frenchman is sidelined for around seven months after undergoing a surgery for an anterior cruciate knee ligament damage.
Amidst this, The Guardian claim that the search is underway for a new centre-back and the Blues prefer to re-sign Guehi.
The 23-year-old left the Blues for Palace in the summer of 2021 for £18m, and the club could sell him for a lucrative package.
The price has not been mentioned, but they are bound to demand more than £50m to part ways with their prized asset.
Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Guehi, but the Blues have the option of matching any transfer fee received by Palace.
Guehi is currently happy at Palace after making his England debut last year, but he could be tempted to make the return to Chelsea.
