Chelsea are advancing with talks with Montpellier to sign striker Elye Wahi, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have already strengthened their attack with the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku. They are now planning to land Wahi, who could be loaned out to sister club Strasbourg.
The west Londoners have been locked in negotiations with Montpellier for some period of time, and it is now claimed that they could try and secure an agreement by the end of next week.
Wahi was one of the best strikers in the French top tier last season. He notched up 19 goals and provided a further six assists from 33 appearances for the former Ligue 1 champions.
Atletico Madrid have also been heavily linked with the young centre-forward, but Chelsea stand in a better position as they don't face any financial difficulties to deal with.
The Blues recently accumulated more than €250 million from player sales, and they should have no problems in meeting the €35m asking price to sign Wahi from Montpellier this summer.
