Inter Milan and Man City, this season's Champions League finalists, will again go to battle but this time it is for the signing of midfielder Lazar Samardžić who currently plays for Italian club Udinese. The 21-year-old midfielder has been a revelation since making a transfer from RB Leipzig in 2021, and looks set to make another step up in his career and the full Serbian international could be available for around 25 million euros.
With Man City set to revamp their midfield after departures of Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez, the club are likely to spend big to bring in some of Europe's brightest talent and Samardzic is a name very high up their transfer wish list.
Inter Milan are also in talks with Udinese already regarding a move, and are confident that an agreement for a fee can be reached swiftly.
It is understood that Samardzic may even favour a move to Inter Milan as he is keen on regular first-team football, and the Serb is concerned a transfer to Man City will mean time on the bench.
It is expected that a deal to decide Samardzic's future will be completed in the coming weeks.
