Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen on signing Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.
The Red Devils have already landed the services of Mason Mount and Andre Onana in the current transfer window.
They have also agreed a deal in principle to land Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. He could be signed very soon.
The club's next target could be a defensive midfielder and reports claim that Fiorentina's Amrabat is the ideal choice.
Ten Hag knows him well from their time together at Utrecht, and he has convinced United to make an approach.
The club are currently looking at player sales, and they could make their move for Amrabat after some outgoings.
The likes of Fred and Donny van de Beek are anticipated to leave the club before the start of the new league season.
Meanwhile, Amrabat is prepared to stay patient for a transfer, having already agreed personal terms with United.
Fiorentina currently want around £26 million to part ways with him.
