Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney ahead of the January transfer window.
The Blues signed Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku to bolster their strike force this summer, but they continue to struggle up front.
Nkunku picked up a serious knee injury during pre-season and he is not expected to make his debut until the New Year.
Jackson looked positive in the United States tour, but he has been hugely disappointing in the Premier League thus far.
The Senegal international has started each of the opening five matches but he has just one goal to show for his efforts.
As a result, the Blues are lining up a new striker and they have been handed a boost in signing Toney from the Bees in January.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has admitted that Toney could be sold after the completion of his ongoing ban for betting breaches.
He said: "I think every club in the world is a selling club apart from five or six clubs. We are a selling club if the right price is there. I think it's the right timing for the player to go, that is not my decision in the end."
